My name is Oluwafeme Fadipe and I am a 2025 Graduate of Keane University. I am really fortunate to be a recipient of the Uptown Foundation and its benefits; from the SAT prep to the scholarship that it offered me, it helped ease my transition to college. I can truthfully say that without the Uptown Foundation, I would not have had as successful a first year of college. Thank you to the Uptown Foundation and its founder, Mr. Murphy

My name is Rosanna Munoz, and I am an NYU Graduate (2025). I am currently in the NYU Nursing program.

I would like to thank the Uptown Foundation for the assistance and guidance they provided me throughout my junior year. Prior to joining the Uptown Foundation program, I had no idea how to begin studying for the SAT. However, the Uptown Foundation program provided me with the latest SAT prep materials and tutoring sessions, which helped me develop better study habits for the SAT and future exams. Even during the pandemic, the Uptown Foundation was dedicated to assisting me and my classmates by providing Zoom classes and offering as much assistance as possible.

The Uptown Foundation Scholarship was a big help in covering my tuition at New York University. I am a first-generation college student, and I had no idea how or when I was required to pay for my first semester of college; thus, I am grateful that the Uptown Foundation Scholarship partially covered my tuition while I navigated and learned more about the financial aspects of college.

My name is Patrick Amoyaw, and I am a 2024 Graduate of Lafayette College, where I was a Posse Scholar.

The Uptown Foundation was crucial in my college readiness. Before I even began the college process, “Uptown” provided me with resources to prepare for the SAT. I had access to a live instructor and tons of textbooks and materials to prepare for the exam. Uptown went so far as to offer us virtual SAT classes during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The assistance from The Uptown Foundation did not end there. When I finally chose the school I would finally be spending the next four years of my life, Uptown gave me a scholarship. This scholarship was instrumental in helping me navigate my first year of college. It covered numerous technology fees, textbooks, and lab fees. It even covered some snacks for some late-night study sessions. I am extremely thankful for The Uptown Foundation, as they made my first year of college a lot easier.

The Uptown Educational Foundation has helped by providing me with resources during high school and college. In high school, through UEF, I was able to get Kaplan SAT prep, which provided me with a tutor every week and test prep books which improved my score. While taking advanced placement courses, UEF was able to supply me with AP review test prep books. To add on, I got support with my college process, such as writing meaningful supplements and a profound personal statement that allowed me to get accepted into competitive colleges. Alongside, it opened my knowledge to new literature by providing me with books that were out of my reach, will all of this aid, it supported my career interests therefore I want to continue expanding my knowledge with a higher education.

With the continuous generosity of the Foundation, I'm very grateful that it helped me pay my tuition during my first year of college. It helped me reduce financial stress on my family and I. The foundation has been a support system and a place where I can ask for help to inquire and aspire myself as well as others around me.
